To show the Advanced Control Options, expand the section by clicking the header. You can further drill down into these target sections through the target's Actions drop-down. You can choose from Decks 1 to 4, Mixer, Music library, Sampler, Microphone, or General. These targets are general areas of the user interface to help make it easier to find the right command to map. Targets are a simple way to break down what controls your MIDI signals are "targeting". Keep mapping the basic controls until you have everything you need and hit DONE to save the config. You have now mapped the Deck 1 PLAY button to your controller. From the Target drop-down list, choose Deck 1, and from the Action drop-down, choose Play/Pause. You then need to select both the Target within the software and the Action the control will perform.Press a button on your controller to add this to the list. To start mapping your first MIDI signal, use the desired control for the editor to pick up the correct note or CC to add to the list.Next, the device MIDI Configuration window will load, displaying the MIDI mapping screen. If this is the first time using the controller, you will see a pop-up message asking if you want to configure the device. Plug your MIDI controller into your computer via a spare USB port and turn it on.Launch djay Pro and wait for it to be fully loaded. To start mapping a new MIDI device, follow these steps: Using the on-screen mapping controls, you have the possibility to either map a new MIDI controller from scratch or to add and remove specific functions for your current natively supported controller to better fit your unique workflow.įollow the short tutorial below on how to map the play/pause button to get a feeling for how the djay Pro MIDI Learn feature works. While the tech is better than it ever was, autosync and beatgrids have no idea what swing and groove or "being in the pocket" even sounds like because they're software with no musical sense or style, and you end up with really loose, sloppy and robotic mixes that don't sound tight.Get the most out of your DJ hardware by creating custom MIDI mappings with the MIDI Learn tool in djay Pro. The problem with rigid beatgrids, master tempo and only using auto-sync is you can't adjust the phasing of a mix and beat to handle stuff like heavy swing beats or alternative rhythm signatures. You just need your tracks and the super basic controls used in beatmatching. You don't need Serato, you don't need Rekordbox. Those manual beatmatching skills transfer to vinyl, fully manual CDJs and basically anything that doesn't have a linked sync button where the decks are aware of the tempo of the other deck.Īnd if you have an issue with a prepared USB drive all you need is your music. Sure, I love my sync button, but learning how to beatmatch manually means you can play unprepared files on almost any given DJ rig as long as it has all the basics, and it teaches you how to be a better DJ to use your ears for dealing with phrasing, swing beats and so much more. I'm not saying "never use sync" or modern DJing tools. If you're interested in streaming radio or playing some live sets, check out Reddit's own EMP Radio! This claim is backed up by their nutritional information, which claims that each nugget contains 3.5 grams of fatty acids, 15 grams of protein, and 570 mg of sodium. The official Wendy’s website claims that their nuggets are made from 100% white meat chicken. But if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful meal, check out the latest deals from Wendy’s. You can even try your hand at homemaking them yourself. They’re also available in several sizes, including 4,6,10, and 20-piece packs. These tasty treats come in a variety of flavors, from classic white meat to spicy buffalo. The most expensive item on the menu might be a burger, but you can’t go wrong with Wendy’s nuggets. For a measly $10, you can eat 50 chicken nuggets in the aforementioned biggie bag. With the exception of the occasional spicy version, Wendy’s serves up the standard fare in bite-sized packages. The number of nuggets in a family size pack at Wendy’s is no secret. But if you’ve got to go back to work and sit in a long meeting, sticking to a baked potato might be the better option.2 Nutritional information for chicken nuggets Note, I’m not saying that the Bacon Deluxe 1/2lb Double probably wouldn’t be delicious, and if you’re willing to go for it and just take a chance and hope for the best, give it a try. Now, if you’re out of the elimination phase and you’re able to eat wheat, the grilled chicken wrap, with no honey mustard sauce, would be relatively low-FODMAP, as well (chicken, lettuce, and cheddar cheese are all low-fodmap, so there’s just the wheat in the tortilla). I find the serving size to be good – filling, but not too much food, which can upset my stomach – and it’s very affordable too! To go along with your baked potato, a garden side salad, with no croutons and no onions is a good complement. Also, up to half a cup of broccoli is low-FODMAP, so you could also eat the broccoli and cheese baked potato. If you’re in the reintroduction phase, or you know that you don’t have problems with dairy, that’s great! Your potato options are more varied: you can go for the cheese baked potato, or the bacon cheese baked potato. A potato on it’s own is very low in FODMAPs, so a nice baked potato (not one of the loaded ones!) is perfect for the FODMAP elimination phase, and also just as a filling bite during the reintroduction phase. I’m starting with Wendy’s because it does offer one of the best options for eating low-FODMAP: plain baked potatoes. No one wants to be that person who has to go into a restaurant and basically redesign the entire menu, asking for substitutions and changes to the menu items, so I’m trying to focus on items that you can order as they come, or with as few adjustments as possible. So if there’s a restaurant that you know you’re going to be frequenting regularly, take a chance on a day when adverse symptoms wouldn’t derail your plans too much, and try something that might be lower-FODMAP, and see if your stomach tolerates it. My friend, who’s been on the low-FODMAP diet for a while, can apparently eat french fries with no ill effects! I’m very jealous, because pretty much anything deep fried is very upsetting to my stomach. Some people will be more affected by fast food than others. Obviously, there’s going to be a range of symptoms from person to person, and that’s not going to be any different if you’re looking at fast food. In college, I always learned that you're only as good as the other actor in the scene with you, and I really do believe that if both of you are on the same page, you can only grow and get better. I was kind of going, Can I do this on my own? I don't know if I can do this on my own. We got such amazing feedback on our story, our performances, and our chemistry. How was it working with them and building those crucial relationships?ĭG: Similar to what Cal said, it was like he and I established such a safe space and trust and bond with Season 1. And Danielle, for you, you were thrown into a different group of actors and characters as Nina joins Kaz (Freddy Carter), Inej (Amita Suman), and Jesper (Kit Young) alongside Wylan ( Jack Wolfe). And I missed acting with Dani, of course.Ħ. For me, it was a huge blessing to be able to do that, although I'm still very much looking forward to getting the hell out of there and joining these guys because I think we can make something very special. I got to really explore the character and the depth, and what that time alone and those thoughts can really bring to the surface, and apply them to the scene, give it darkness and brutality and the depth that I think it requires. It coincided really well with what Matthias was going through. It was, I think, maybe the most profound season in my life of figuring out who I am. You have to go through that period of isolation, working by yourself, and figuring out who Matthias is. I know that I'm part of The Crows and the vision further on, but with this season, you kind of have to be patient. Sometimes I would go to set and watch them do their thing or show up to the little rehearsals at one of our houses. Throughout our time over in Budapest, I was really longing to be with because we are so close off screen, and I just wanted to be part of it. I think that was such an incredible thing I was given, in retrospect, because Matthias is so isolated in nature anyway. Calahan, especially for you being so alone, what was that like?ĬS: It was a season of solitude for me, in both the show and in my own life. The biggest difference for both of you between Season 1 and Season 2 is you went from essentially having every scene together to only sharing two quick moments. Not as useful as the books, obviously, because with the books you also have a direct insight into your character's inner workings, their engines, their worries, their fears, all the subtext you could possibly want is written on the page for you. The fan artwork was so helpful because they're all so evocative and they have such attitude and stuff that I was able to understand the character more via seeing everyone else's interpretation of her because they know her so well. When I'm working on characters, I like to get a collage of things like songs, artwork, what their room looks like, just to have visual images. I think you inadvertently cast me or enabled me to be cast with all of your fan art and everything. ĭid you pull inspiration for your characters from other places prior to auditioning then?ĭG: I got a lot of my info from the fans. Had either of you read Six of Crows or any of Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse books before auditioning? Or even heard of them?ĭG: Not before the audition came through.ĬS: Not for the audition. That might sound cliché sometimes, but it really did feel like I really understood this character. I gave it my best.Ĥ. There was something special about it then, and now, years later, having done plenty of auditions following that one, it's even more apparent to me that it felt right in the moment. It was really one of my first ones I got out of grad school. My family is Scandinavian, but obviously I'm from America. I believe they hadn't even opened up the audition process to Americans to start off with because they were looking for someone Scandinavian from over there. We just had a little Zoom chat and then I found out I got the part, like, a month or two later, which was crazy.Ĭalahan Skogman: I was the last of the bunch to join in on the party. So, I mean, everything was balancing precariously on my ironing board. It was the time before we were okay with Zoom, it was pre-pandemic. So, I had to do a Skype with Eric and Lee Toland Krieger. It was a tape, which is actually pretty orthodox, but then they wanted me to fly to London for a callback, but I couldn't because I was doing a show in Dublin. First, just looking back, what were each of your auditions like for Shadow and Bone?ĭanielle Galligan: My audition process was unorthodox. I just can't stand when people think that they know about a company when they have to be doing something right they are the number one transmission vendor for the speed channel and is always on spike and velocity. It was delivered yesterday and he is putting it in now. I was just like you guys not sure about them but they really helped me and my buddy just ordered a 4L60E for his truck. Also if you think about it if they only had 27 complaints in a year with the thousands of transmissions they do. When they do that I can't go in and take it down after I made that person happy. I also thought about the bad that is out there but being in the customer service field I know if someone is rude and only wants one thing even if it is there fault that they did it but does not want to admit it then they freak and go post bad things about us. This thing was bad like 850hp,700tq, and they used a new trans in it and it smoked the tires. Well I am a huge fan of Deadliest Catch and they put a new 4L80E transmission in one of the sickest 55 chevy I have seen in a long time. it was like free money for doing burn outs Just call and see I also got a check back in the mail for doing a testimonial video. So for the thousands they sell to have such little negative out there was worth a shot to call and I did and could not be happier. I understand that there is a lot out there but you can't make everyone happy and I asked the same thing and most of the issues were resolved But I also check BBB and pissed consumer and read between the lines and they were trying to help them out all along and it sounds like they were just wanting the moon and stars and not being reasonable I work with people every day and have to deal with them and you can't make everyone happy. I called in and spoke with a rep they actually knew what they were talking about as I did a lot of calls to get the best deal for my money and they took the time to get all my vehicle specifics and actually saved me money not adding items that I would not need. puts out some horsepower and torque and am so thankful I went with them. I have bought a transmission for my 69 nova and this thing def. When I was first writing the book, some people were advising me to try to sell it as a novel. The underworlds of all these epic traditions became my world.Įven though it was really challenging and overwhelming to parent a small child through my treatment, in some ways that child-my daughter, Mira-became a figure who led me out of that dark place, in a way that lots of epics’ descents to the underworld involve being guided (though usually not by a three-year-old who’s just learning language). With this book, it’s all underworld, because I felt sucked into a bit of an underworld at that point in the middle of my life. They get sucked into this black hole: the world of the dead. At the center of so many of the epic poems that we read in that class, there is a descent to the underworld, where the world that characters thought they inhabited turns out not to be the world they thought it was. What ended up happening was I wrote an epic turned inside out. Life and death, right on top of each other. I started writing Underworld Lit in 2012, right after my last book came out, and a few years after I had a cancer diagnosis and my daughter was born. So I’d always intended to write an epic in the least heroic possible way, which was part of the fun and the challenge and the excitement of writing a book that was framed by my reading and teaching of epics in the Readings in World Literature College Core course. His book Underworld Lit (Wave Books, 2020) is a long narrative poem cast partly in the form of lecture notes for an imaginary course in the humanities. To make matters better for her, it’s hard to hit her back because she has an 80% chance to charm enemies each time she uses her Noble Phantasm. She has a Guts on Ananga EX which does not expire, and Blessing of the Goddess A heals almost 1/3 of her HP every time she uses it. She’s also great against Alter Egos, capable of hitting them with full class advantage with her Mara Pāpīyas EX boost up. With Skadi in play, this leads to insane damage numbers. If she can do multiple Noble Phantasms, any further one will continue to grant stacks of Quick boosts. Not only does Ananga EX give her a strong attack buff for three turns, and not only does Riding A give her a Quick bonus, but she gains further bonus for 3-turns from her Overcharge’s Quick boost. Just make sure to save her a piece of cake for when the quest is done! Strengthsĭespite Kama’s innate 0.9x multiplier due to her Assassin classing, she is one of the heaviest damaging Single Target Servants in the game. Those three combined together make her a challenge quest beast, while still being a strong contender as primary damage dealer in non-challenge quest scenarios to take out a single larger enemy, or as a team anchor. With one of the most solid arsenals in the game for a damage dealer, nobody should ever not want Kama in their party for her sheer survivability, damage, and stall potential. In addition, she lacks an ability to ignore invincibility and defense, occasionally making her competitors more viable. Most notably, she’s lacking in critical capacities save for a small critical damage buff. With all those strengths, it’s hard to find any weaknesses in Kama, but they’re there. And then there is the fact that she can manipulate her class advantage, becoming one of the only Servants capable of gaining class advantage against Alter Egos. And why can this girl use successive Noble Phantasms? She has a super-rare feature for an Assassin: a 50% charge skill on Mara Pāpīyas EX ! Of course, one must also mention her non-turn limited Guts skill on Ananga EX which can also be supplemented by Blessing of Goddess B’s huge heal to bring her back up to health. And that’s not even mentioning how she can chain Noble Phantasms with its built-in Quick buffs to make successive Noble Phantasms even faster. Her Noble Phantasm is the biggest feature of all of this which, besides doing a very large amount of damage, has a very high chance of immobilizing an enemy for a turn via charm. Kama comes to be in the middle of the Quick-Meta stage of the game, and given her kit, reaps many benefits within that meta. That way, Master can always find the pleasure they seek in winning the game. So Kama came alone with a Quick Single Target Noble Phantasm with a high chance of charming its target, and became the premiere Challenge Quest DPS in the game for a long time. Once upon a time there was a need for a goddess who wanted to help Master explore any pleasure they desired, no matter how depraved it may be. I'm not saying that I DIDN'T want that piece of cake you're holding.” “Don't you dare treat me like those other child Servants.Hey wait. These waves are characterized by several key attributes:įrequency: One of the defining features of a sound wave is its frequency, which determines the pitch of the sound. They are a result of the vibration of particles in a medium, be it air, water, or a solid substance. To truly comprehend the magic of sound, one must first grasp the fundamental nature of these waves and the fascinating characteristics that define them.ĭefining Sound Waves: Sound waves are, at their essence, the physical manifestation of sound itself. The world of sound is a mesmerizing realm governed by the intricate behavior of sound waves. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or an avid music enthusiast, Middle C’s role in shaping the melodies we cherish is a testament to the intricate beauty of the musical world. Its significance extends far beyond its position on the keyboard or its numerical frequency it represents the very essence of musical harmony and precision. In the grand symphony of music, Middle C stands as a beacon of order and reference, guiding musicians, vocalists, and composers alike. Choir directors often use Middle C as a standard pitch for warm-ups and exercises, ensuring that all singers in the ensemble are in sync. It serves as a reference note for vocalists to find their starting pitch and maintain proper intonation. Moreover, Middle C plays a pivotal role in vocal training and choir singing. This ensures that the entire keyboard is harmonically aligned, allowing for seamless transitions between different keys and musical compositions. When a piano is tuned, the technician uses Middle C as the starting point and tunes each successive note in relation to it. Musicians often refer to Middle C as the “heart” of the piano, as its frequency forms the basis for tuning the entire instrument. In the context of the equally tempered scale, which is the standard tuning system in Western music, Middle C’s frequency serves as a reference point for tuning all other notes. This numerical value is not arbitrary it’s a result of the mathematical principles that underlie the organization of musical notes. To be precise, it vibrates at a frequency of 261.63 Hz. Middle C, or C4, is characterized by its specific frequency in hertz (Hz). This positioning imparts Middle C with a sense of balance and equilibrium, making it an essential note in the musical lexicon. This centrality grants Middle C a dual identity – it serves as the midpoint of both the musical staff and the piano keyboard, bridging the gap between the higher treble notes and the lower bass notes. It stands squarely in the middle of the keyboard, both physically and in terms of pitch, making it a crucial point of reference for musicians. To truly appreciate the significance of Middle C, one must delve into its role in music theory and understand the fundamental concepts associated with it.Īt its core, Middle C is the linchpin of the musical alphabet. It serves as a musical anchor, a point of reference that helps musicians navigate the intricate landscape of notes, keys, and harmonies. In the world of music, Middle C, often denoted as C4, occupies a unique and central position. You’ll discover the fascinating interplay of frequency, wavelength, and the beauty of musical notes through a journey that will leave you astounded at how harmoniously sound can be composed. To conclude, we’ll look at how sound waves shape the way we experience middle C and all music in general. If you’ve ever wondered how music is made or why it’s important to listen to it, the science behind it will be something to learn. These sound waves are important in understanding how we perceive and how they relate to music at its most fundamental level. When you hear middle C, you hear this frequency, which determines the size of the sound waves produced. Middle C, or C4, is a musical note with a specific frequency that distinguishes it from other notes. In this article, we’ll look at the mystery behind the size of sound waves, particularly those associated with the musical note known as middle C. What makes music an intangible substance that can be measured in terms of its size? The answer is simple: sound is a complete experience. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.
